Talking Flannel

There is no doubt which fabric is the star of the fall/winter trouser line up. You guessed it - flannel. This season our flannel collection is wider and better than ever with three different models; Anton, Alfons and Arnold, available in six shades; white, light sand, mid grey, charcoal, black and navy. All three models have a high rise and a great fit, but each have a distinct identity and look.
Talking Flannel

For the perfect look and feel we use Vitale Barberis Canonico’s Original flannel for our trousers - a woolen, 340 g classic flannel fabric. We choose woolen flannel over worsted for the beautiful colour variation, fuzzy texture, classic look and soft feel. This is a fabric that pairs well with everything from a club blazer and penny loafers to a chunky ribbed roll neck and boots.

As all Berg & Berg trousers, our flannels are crafted in Naples, by a traditional manufacturer who focuses solely on fine trousers. Our three different trouser models are developed in close cooperation with skilled tailors - true craftsmen and trouser experts.

Anton entered the Berg & Berg trouser collection during spring 2019, then only available in cotton. With a straight, slightly wider leg as well as double pleats and belt loops, it was an instant hit. This season we are proud, for the first time, to offer Anton in flannel. We look forward to wearing Anton with tucked in knitwear, polos as well as tailoring. This model will definitely look great with our new shirts crafted from a Japanese oxford cloth, coming later this fall.

A Berg & Berg classic, our flat front Alfons trouser has been part of our collection for several seasons now. Together with its pleated brother Arnold, Alfons is the most successful product in Berg & Berg history. Alfons has a high rise, side adjusters and some room in the thigh and leg - which creates a silhouette that evokes a more classic feel than most flat front trousers. An ideal everyday model, Alfons looks great worn minimalistically with our round neck Bruno sweater or more classically with our Filip button downs and tailoring.

With single pleats, side adjusters and a high rise, Arnold flannels are the perfect match for tailoring. We look forward to wearing ours with navy blazers and tweed jackets this fall and winter. Arnold has slightly more room in the thigh than Alfons, but has a more tapered cut than the straighter leg Anton model. In flannel this is a perfect pair for the office, but could easily also be worn more casually.
