Raglan Coats Guide

This season, the Nelson raglan coat returns in two distinct fabrics, each offered in a considered palette of tones.

IRISH DONEGAL TWEED

The robust Irish Donegal tweed has long been a Berg & Berg favourite, shaping the coat’s enduring character. Woven in a distinct herringbone with the flecked texture typical of Donegal cloth, it carries a rich sense of heritage. At a substantial 670gsm, it is a true winter weight, offering warmth and a rustic appeal. Though rooted in the countryside, its versatility makes it equally at home in the city, pairing effortlessly with casual ensembles as well as tailoring.

ENGLISH HERRINGBONE TWEED

This season we introduce a denser English tweed, bringing a cleaner, more urban sensibility. At 525–540gsm, it is lighter than the Irish Donegal yet still firmly a winter cloth. The navy and grey herringbones carry the character of a classic city coat, while the brown/green herringbone and brown/natural houndstooth offer a softer, more relaxed feel.
