Introducing Valstar

The key piece in our BB & Friends selection this season is a suede shirt jacket, by legendary Italian manufacturer Valstar.
Introducing Valstar

- We have been fans of Valstar for a long time, and when we were starting to talk about brands and makers to add to our BB & Friends selection, it was one of the first ideas that came up, says Berg & Berg founder Mathias Berg.

Valstar is probably most famous for the Valstarino. The iconic suede leather jacket is a modern, sporty take on the A-1 blouson that was originally a military flight jacket worn by American fighter pilots. However, Berg & Berg went in another direction when selecting the jackets that would be part of the first season selection for BB & Friends.

- We really fell for the suede shirt jacket. It is a very easy piece to wear, and incredibly light and elegant. It kind of elevates anything that it is combined with, says Andreas Larsson, creative manager of Berg & Berg.

Unlined and crafted from light, buttery suede, it is a great companion on mild summer nights, but will also be a key wardrobe piece as summer passes and the air turns crisp and cool.

- My favorite way to wear the jacket the coming months will be with one of our Claes one piece polos and a pair of Arnold or Alfons high waisted trousers. That´s a look that´s truly casual and elegant at the same time. For fall it will look great with a turtle neck sweater and flannels, he adds.

Valstar is a company with a long history, the business was founded over 105 years ago. While still maintaining traditional artisanal manufacturing methods, it is a truly modern company with a real understanding of the way men dress today.

- For us who believe in classic style, but from a modern, fresh perspective, this is a perfect fit, Mathias Berg says.
